We love building the foundations that people live on.
The Bratcher Company is based in the quiet area of Newton Creek in North Roseburg, Oregon. Founded as a result of seeing the effects of failed ground work, we have been deeply focused on high quality, engineer supported foundation and excavation work.
We are close to the land we live on, and the Umpqua Valley has unique features that make excavation, water drainage, and site planning more than just "digging." Through close work with geotechnical engineers in our area, along with experienced builders - we have become established stewards of the terrain and those who live on it.
Our team of dedicated professionals work with advanced tools and equipment and focus on constant improvement - doing better to get better results. We work and live here - and our work supports the families and businesses who trust their buildings and support systems to keep them safe.
The Bratcher Company team consists of Nate Bratcher, Eric Irby (partner), Chris Newman (operations manager), and Lee Lockhart (truck and equipment operator).
The Bratcher is Emma (and our logo)
Our logo signifies a deep rooted love of German culture, where the Bratcher name originates. Emma - Nate's 7-year old German Shepherd is the crux of the operation. She is full-time security, safety, and morale officer at the Bratcher homestead.
Equipment & Technology
We utilize several machines and implements to complete your job:
- Bobcat 334D Excavator - 8k excavator for drainage, septic, and hillside work)
- Komatsu PC-50Mr2 - 12k excavator for site preparation, deep excavation, and long trench work.
- Bobcat T595 - 8k tracked skid loader - grading, fill removal/installation, backfill work, hauling.
- Bomag BMP 8500 - 8K/14K pad-foot roller compactor - compaction levels needed to meet geotechnical engineering requirements for settlement in foundation pads.
- John Deere 1023E Tractor - grading, small backhoe work, tight entry and minimal impact machine. Utility.
- Barreto MH16 Trencher - self-propelled trenching machine for utility work.
